It is possible to register the internet connection with WiFi from your own broadband router or with a computer directly connected to the network socket in the wall. A broadband router enables multiple computers and mobiles to be connected at the same time.

Most apartments have one network socket in the wall where it is possible to connect your computer or broadband router. There are instructions inside the media center or you can read more under Several Internet sockets for those apartments that have more than one network socket.

Your computer is most likely already configured to receive an IP-address automatically. If your computer does not have this option set, you can follow one of the guides listed below to adjust the settings in your computer.

Linux (Gnome)
Mac OS X
Windows 10

NOTE If you have a broadband router, you must configure the Internet/WAN port to obtain the IP address automatically (called "DHCP" or "Dynamic IP"). In most cases, you reach the broadband interface by visiting: href="http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.1.1. The correct address is listed on the broadband router.

We strongly recommend having DHCP turned on. The server admittedly gives out the same IP address to the respective apartment and it will work even if you put the address statically. But when, for example, we need to readdress the networks in student areas, it will not be noticeable if you have DHCP, while it will stop working if you use a static address.
